Working closely with citizens, elected officials, and other government agencies, the Baltimore County Department of Planning implements programs and projects that strengthen existing communities and formulates policies, plans and regulations to guide the County’s growth and development for future generations.

The Department of Planning is comprised of two divisions, the Division of Neighborhood Improvements and the Division of Community Development. The major activities of each division are:
