She Did That—HerStory to Well-thiness: Turning Trauma to Triumph
The Department of Recreation and Parks will host She Did That—HerStory to Well-thiness: Turning Trauma to Triumph on Friday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at the Randallstown Community Center, 3505 Resource Drive, Randallstown, Maryland 21133. Delve into women’s history with guest speakers, community resources and local businesses, and fun physical activities. Admission is free. Please register.
Irish Music Festival
The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will host an Irish Music Festival featuring the ShamRogues on Saturday, March 23, at 1 p.m. at the Oregon Ridge Lodge, 13401 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030. In addition to music, join us for dance demonstrations, vendors from the Irish community, food and drink, and more. Admission is $20 per person for ages 12 and older. Eleven years of age and younger are free. Please register.
Community Planning Institute Spring Cohort Application Period
The Community Planning Institute (CPI) will be hosting a spring session. The Department of Planning has created the CPI to empower Baltimore County community members and stakeholders to be productively engaged in planning, land use, and development processes and practices that impact their communities. The Institute will consist of weekly in-person classes for five consecutive weeks.
Sessions will occur 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 7: Welcome and Kick-Off
- Tuesday, May 14: Planning 101
- Tuesday, May 21: Understanding Zoning
- Tuesday, May 28: Baltimore County Development
- Tuesday, June 4: Graduation
Those interested in participating must apply. Applications will be open from Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 29 at noon.

Powder Mill Interceptor Relief Sewer
The Department of Public Works and Transportation began building more than a mile of new sanitary sewer in Lochearn in February. The project extends from Liberty Road at the Baltimore City line to Southern Cross Drive at Parsons Avenue. Work on the $5.7 million project began last winter with tree removal to permit excavation for 5,621 feet of large-diameter conduit. It's about 70 percent complete and should be finished this spring. The new line increases pipe capacity and will help prevent sewer overflows. It’s part of Baltimore County’s agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to eliminate overflows and to improve an aging sanitary sewer system.

Reisterstown Road Water Main Project (Designated Phase III)
Baltimore County is working on a major water main project, replacing 16,000 feet of line in Reisterstown Road between Pleasant Hill Road and Stocksdale Avenue. The three miles of new 16- and 20-inch diameter line is 70 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished this spring. Crews continue to install services across Reisterstown Road.

Water Line Construction on Falls Road
The Department of Public Works and Transportation is replacing more than 11,000 feet of water line on Falls Road between the Baltimore City line and Brightfield Road near Interstate 695. The project, which will cost approximately $10.5 million, is about 65 percent complete. The entire project, begun in 2022, will require approximately two years to complete. The replacement of the line—sections of which are more than 90 years old—will improve the reliability of the system. Much of the construction will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and ingress and egress will be coordinated with (and provided for) all property owners. Falls Road will not be closed during construction but there will be some lane closures during the day to accommodate construction schedules. Falls Road carries about 18,000 cars daily. There will be traffic delays.

Reisterstown Road Water Main Project (Designated Phase IV)
Baltimore County is scheduled to begin work on a major water main project, replacing 8,600 linear feet of four-to-24-inch ductile-iron water main in Reisterstown Road from Interstate 695 heading south to Irving Place. The project cost is $11,920,728. The working hours will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Expect single-lane closures with various traffic patterns throughout the duration of the project. The work began in the summer. The project is 50 percent complete.

Pikesville Pumping Station Number 2, 42-inch Discharge Water Main
Baltimore County will begin work on a major water main project starting at the Pikesville Pumping Station located south of Interstate 695 (I-695) and east of Reisterstown Road. The new water main travels north going under I-695 to the Reservoir Circle Office Complex, then travels west along Hooks Lane and finally north along Greene Tree Road. The discharge water main is approximately 9,500 feet in length. Work includes, but is not limited to, construction of the new 42-inch and 30-inch water main, and construction of a 72-inch tunnel across I-695. The project is expected to take two years to complete at a cost of $20.2 million dollars. The project is one percent complete.

Montbel Relief Sanitary Sewer
Baltimore County began work on the Montbel Relief Sewer Project. The work consists of installing 1,800 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer main in the Gwynns Falls Sewershed located in the Gwynn Oak area of Baltimore County. The project is scheduled to take eight months to complete at a cost of $2.2 million. The project is 15 percent complete.

Ellenham Avenue Eight-Inch Water Main Replacement
Baltimore County will begin work on the Ellenham eight-inch water main replacement. The site is in the Riderwood area of Baltimore County along Ellenham Avenue between Ruxton Road and West Joppa Road, and along Ellenham Road. The work consists of replacing 4,300 linear feet of eight-inch water main at a cost of $1.5 million. The project is scheduled to take one year to complete.
