Nature of Variance Request: The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability hereby gives notice that a variance in accordance with Section 33-6-116 of the Baltimore County Code was requested to remove 50 of 81 specimen trees in order to develop a 10-lot residential subdivision on 20.7 acres. This variance application replaces variance application #02-24-4036 that has been rescinded by the applicant. Moreover, due to changes in existing conditions and storm water management design, this latest variance would replace the variance granted on February 6, 2018 (tracking #02-17-2633). Of the 50 specimens to be removed, 20 are in poor condition or dead. The additional specimen tree in poor condition is being removed to comply with sight distance requirements along Broadway Road set forth by Baltimore County Department of Permits Approvals and Inspections after this variance was initially posted.
