Responsibilities
- Collection and disposal of solid waste through landfill, transfer or waste-to-energy facilities
- Promote waste prevention, recycling and resource recovery
- Monitoring and maintenance of disposal sites including Eastern Sanitary Landfill in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
Organization
- Administration
Oversees the daily operation of all aspects of the Bureau, including budget, procurement, and customer service contact with the public. - Collection
Manages the collection of residential trash, recycling, and yard materials. - Recycling
Promotes recycling and waste prevention. - Refuse Disposal
Operates and manages disposal of trash, recycling, and other materials at the Eastern Sanitary Landfill; Oversees operations of transfer of waste into and out of other County waste facilities.
