Bureau Chief Collection and disposal of solid waste through landfill, transfer or waste-to-energy facilities Promote waste prevention, recycling and resource recovery Monitoring and maintenance of disposal sites including Eastern Sanitary Landfill in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
- Administration
Oversees the daily operation of all aspects of the Bureau, including budget, procurement, and customer service contact with the public. - Collection
Manages the collection of residential trash, recycling, and yard materials. - Recycling
Promotes recycling and waste prevention. - Refuse Disposal
Operates and manages disposal of trash, recycling, and other materials at the Eastern Sanitary Landfill; Oversees operations of transfer of waste into and out of other County waste facilities.
The County Council approved the County's Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan on December 1, 2008. The Plan, including an Executive Summary, may be viewed here. The Plan is subject to review and approval by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
