Trash and Recycling Collection

April 23, 2024 8:15 AM

Operating

Trash, recycling and yard material collections are running normally; please follow your regularly-scheduled collection days for all materials (including the usual holiday schedule). Residents are reminded that each of the six collection holidays throughout the year now follow a "slide" make-up schedule. The first round of 2024 bulk item collections runs from January 2 through June 28; check your schedule to find your specific assigned bulk day.

Trash and Recycling Drop-Off Centers

April 23, 2024 8:15 AM

Open

All three drop-off centers are currently in service with normal operating hours (including the usual holiday schedule). Yard materials brought to County drop-off centers for recycling must be contained in paper bags, or no bags at all. Yard materials in plastic bags will no longer be accepted.

What to Expect in Severe Weather

In bad weather, trash and recycling collection may not occur at the usual time, or even on the scheduled day. In cases of inclement weather, check this page or the County's Weather Center for collection status updates. You may also call our 24-hour customer service message system at 410-887-2000.

If your trash or recycling collection does not occur on its scheduled day due to weather related issues, residents' drop-off centers may be open for you to take your materials rather than wait for the next scheduled pickup. Please check this page or call 410-887-2000 before visiting any of the drop-off facilities, as they may also be closed in times of extreme weather conditions.
