EPS Variances

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meeting

The board will meet as follows:

  • Thursday, June 5, at 4 p.m., virtually through Webex
  • Tuesday, June 17, at 4 p.m., in-person in the Jefferson Building, 105 West Chesapeake Avenue, Room 104, Towson, Maryland 21204

Agricultural Land Preservation Advisory Board Meeting

The advisory board will meet in-person on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture, 1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030. Recreation and Parks Board Meeting

Music in the Woods

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host Music in the Woods, in partnership with Oregon Ridge Nature Center Council, on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m. This music-based festival will be held at Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030, and will include activities, vendors and exhibitors.

Ribbon Cutting for the Accessible Trail at Rocky Point Park and Beach

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m., for the new Accessible Trail at Rocky Point Park and Beach, 2200 Rocky Point Road, Essex, Maryland 21221. Join Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier and Department of Recreation and Parks Director Bob Smith to celebrate the completion of the project, which includes an ADA-accessible path and boardwalk, a resurfaced picnic area, a new covered pavilion, and accessible parking at the trailhead.

Drag Bingo and Brunch

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host Drag Bingo and Brunch, on Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m., at Holt Park and Center for the Arts, 34 Elmont Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206, to celebrate Pride Month. This celebration will include drag queen performances, bingo, giveaways and other activities.

Juneteenth Celebration

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a Juneteenth Celebration, on Thursday, June 19, at 3 p.m., at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, 300 Oella Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228. This celebration will include live music, vendors, exhibitors, historical reenactments and activities.

Hazelwood Skate Park Celebration

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a celebration, in partnership with the Baltimore County Skateboard Council, on Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m., at Hazelwood Skate Park, 4924 Hazelwood Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206. This “grand opening” celebration will include vendors, exhibitors, music and food trucks.

Gray Manor Relief Sewer (GM01)

Baltimore County is constructing 3,100 feet of relief sewer in the Gray Manor area. The 12-inch diameter pipe will help stop sanitary sewer overflows and is part of the County’s Consent Decree with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The project, estimated to cost $1.5 million, began in 2023 and should be finished this spring. This contract is 95 percent complete.

Penwood Terrace Force Main Replacement

Baltimore County began replacing 6,600 feet of sewer force main in North Point at the end of March. The $3.1 million dollar job, going from Penwood Terrace to Willow Avenue, will require about a year to complete. It's about 99 percent complete. During the project, there will be single-lane road closures to permit construction.

Red House Run Structural Sewer Rehabilitation

Baltimore County has started a major sewer rehabilitation project consisting of almost 15 miles of sewer line in the Overlea and Rosedale areas. Work on the $4.7 million project began in 2022. It's 98 percent complete. The Red House Run Structural Sewer Rehabilitation project is part of the County's Consent Decree—the County's agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to improve the entire sanitary system.

Lodge Forest Manor Pumping Station

The Lodge Forest Manor Sewage Pumping Station (an existing station) is back online after construction. Closeout procedures have been started. Work began in 2022. Construction, which is about 100 percent complete, is expected to cost $2,181,696.

Gray Manor Relief Sewer GM 11 and GM 13

Baltimore County is constructing 2,527 linear feet of relief sewer in the Gray Manor area in Trappe Road from Woodwell Road to North Point Road. The 12-inch diameter pipe will help stop sanitary sewer overflows and is part of the County’s Consent Decree with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The project is estimated to cost $1.8 million. The contract is 99 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished this spring.

Dundalk Sanitary Sewer Main Rehabilitation

The Department of Public Works and Transportation started a major sanitary sewer rehabilitation project consisting of 25 miles of eight-to-24-inch sanitary sewer main rehabilitation in the Dundalk area of Baltimore County. The project is scheduled for completion in December at a cost of $7.8 million. The contract is 77 percent complete. Residences will be notified via door hangers by the contractor if their sewer service is affected.

Development Meetings and Zoning Hearings

Development Meetings include Community Input, Concept Plan, County Review, Development Review Committee and Hearing Officers Hearings.

Zoning Hearings include Special Exceptions, Variances and other issues before the Office of Administrative Hearings of Baltimore County.

These meetings are virtual through Webex.
