EPS Variances

The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meetings

The board will meet as follows:

  • Thursday, June 5, at 4 p.m., virtually through Webex

Agricultural Land Preservation Advisory Board Meeting

The advisory board will meet in-person on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture, 1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030. Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

Recreation and Parks Board Meeting

Music in the Woods

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host Music in the Woods, in partnership with Oregon Ridge Nature Center Council, on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m. This music-based festival will be held at Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Maryland 21030, and will include activities, vendors and exhibitors.

Drag Bingo and Brunch

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host Drag Bingo and Brunch, on Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m., at Holt Park and Center for the Arts, 34 Elmont Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206, to celebrate Pride Month. This celebration will include drag queen performances, bingo, giveaways and other activities.

Juneteenth Celebration

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a Juneteenth Celebration, on Thursday, June 19, at 3 p.m., at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, 300 Oella Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228. This celebration will include live music, vendors, exhibitors, historical reenactments and activities.

Hazelwood Skate Park Celebration

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a celebration, in partnership with the Baltimore County Skateboard Council, on Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m., at Hazelwood Skate Park, 4924 Hazelwood Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206. This “grand opening” celebration will include vendors, exhibitors, music and food trucks.

West Towson Park Addition Virtual Public Input Meeting

The Department of Recreation and Parks will host a public meeting on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m., via Webex, to gather public input on future park development.

Community residents are encouraged to participate to offer their input. The meeting will consist of a brief presentation followed by time for questions and comments from the public.

Stansbury Manor Pumping Station

The Stansbury Manor Sewage Pumping Station (a new station) is online after construction. Work began in 2022. Construction, which is about 99 percent complete, is expected to cost $5,045,000. The job is completed—waiting for a new grinder install—then closeout can begin.

Red House Run Structural Sewer Rehabilitation

Baltimore County has started a major sewer rehabilitation project consisting of almost 15 miles of sewer line in the Overlea and Rosedale areas. Work on the $4.7 million project began in 2022. It's approximately 98 percent toward completion. The Red House Run Structural Sewer Rehabilitation project is part of the County's Consent Decree—the County’s agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to improve the entire sanitary system and eliminate sanitary sewer overflows.

Essex Structural Sewer Rehabilitation

Baltimore County is investing $4.4 million into structurally rehabilitating sewer lines in Essex in the area of Eastern Boulevard, Mace Avenue and Riverside Drive. The County’s contractor will line almost 15 miles of sewer pipe (eight-, 12-, 15- and 18-inch diameter conduits) during the next year. The project is about 99 percent complete.

Mohrs Lane Bridge

The Mohrs Lane Bridge (Bridge B-0143) over the CSX Railroad, north of Pulaski Highway, was closed in 2007 because of structural deterioration. Demolition was completed by CSX in 2011 and Baltimore County assumed ownership with plans to rebuild the bridge. A new bridge is awaiting the completion of the engineer’s design. The structure is scheduled to be advertised for construction in 2026. The final plans are almost complete. The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) was approved for this project and the process to acquire the right of way has begun. This bridge will be part of the future Campbell Boulevard Corridor.

Towson Water Pumping Stations

Baltimore County is renovating the Towson Water Pumping Stations. This project is 32 percent complete. The cost of this work is $10,060,000.

Hospital Drive and Lennings Lane Water Main Replacement

Baltimore County began a water main replacement project located in the Rosedale area of Baltimore County, bounded by Franklin Square Boulevard on the northwest and Philadelphia Road on the southeast. The project will consist of replacing 6,700 linear feet of eight-inch and 12-inch water mains at a cost of $2.7 million. The project, which is 99 percent complete, is expected to take one and a half years to complete.

Loch Raven Boulevard 12- and 24-Inch DIP Water Main Replacement

While partnering with the State Highway Administration, the Department of Public Works and Transportation will be replacing 5,650 linear feet of 12- and 24-inch water main from Joppa Road to Taylor Avenue. The entire project started in May 2024 and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026. The project is 50 percent complete.

Charles Street Water Main Replacement

While partnering with the State Highway Administration, the Department of Public Works and Transportation started replacing 4,200 linear feet of 12- and 16-inch water main from the Baltimore City line to Bellona Avenue. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 2026. The project is 58 percent complete.

Hillendale Park Water Main Replacement

The Department of Public Works and Transportation began a water main replacement project. This project includes the replacement of 27,300 feet of water mains and appurtenances in and around Hillendale and Oakleigh Roads. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2028 at a cost of $12.5 million. The project is 18 percent complete.

Fullerton Avenue Water Main Replacement

The Department of Public Works and Transportation began a water main replacement project. This project includes the replacement of 21,272 feet of water mains and appurtenances in and around the Overlea area of Baltimore County. The project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2027 at a cost of $9.5 million. The project is 15 percent complete.

White Marsh West Structural Sewer Rehabilitation

The Department of Public Works and Transportation began work on the White Marsh Structural Sewer Rehabilitation Project. This project includes rehabilitation of 67,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer lines in the western portion of the White Marsh Sewershed. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2026 at a cost of $4.2 million. The project is eight percent complete.

Stemmers Run Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Basin 5 and 6

The Department of Public Works and Transportation has started a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project in the Carney and Perry Hall area. This project includes CIPP lining of 43,000 linear feet of eight- to 24-inch sanitary sewer lines at a cost of $7.5 million. The project is scheduled for completion in the winter of 2027.

Development Meetings and Zoning Hearings

Development Meetings include Community Input, Concept Plan, County Review, Development Review Committee and Hearing Officers Hearings.

Zoning Hearings include Special Exceptions, Variances and other issues before the Office of Administrative Hearings of Baltimore County.

These meetings are virtual through Webex.
