Recreation and Parks Board Screen on the Green Summer Movie Series

The Department of Recreation and Parks invites you to one of our beautiful parks for a free Summer Movie Series, running now through Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Water Project in Perry Hall

Baltimore County is replacing 4,000 feet of water line in parts of Seven Courts Drive, Proctor Lane and Gunview Road. Work began in late February and is about 65 percent complete. Contractors will replace four- and 24-inch diameter prestressed concrete pipe with ductile-iron pipe in a project that is anticipated to take between three and six months to complete. The project will cost $1.5 million. As the work progresses, residents will be kept informed by the contractor regarding temporary water shutoffs and parking changes needed to facilitate progress. Driving lanes disturbed by construction will be resurfaced upon completion of the project.

Sewer Relining Project in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson

The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) began an extensive sewer relining project in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson in May. It’s 70 percent complete. More than 12 miles of sanitary sewer pipe will be relined during the next year and a half. The project will cost about $5.8 million. Most of the work will be below ground with minimal impact to communities. However, with any project of this scale, there may be some traffic or parking issues, and occasional chemical odors. DPWT staff will issue periodic updates.

Variance:

  • In the alternative, if necessary, a variance from Section 210.5.D of the BCZR to permit the use of a commercial drive aisle as close as four feet to a residential zone (an existing condition), in lieu of the required 75 feet;
  • BCZR 409.6: To allow a total of 97 off-street parking spaces in lieu of the required 133 off-street parking spaces;
  • BCZR 450.4 Table of Sign Regulations 3(a): To permit a freestanding directional sign with a sign face area of 18 square feet (and a company logo comprising 42 percent of the sign face area) in lieu of the maximum permitted eight square feet (and 30 percent of the sign face area);
  • BCZR 450.4 Table of Sign Regulations 5(j): To permit three wall-mounted enterprise signs with a face area of 58.75 square feet in lieu of the maximum permitted two square feet.
