MASTER PLAN 2030 PHASE II COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Master Plan 2030 development is underway. Through the summer and fall, the Department of Planning conducted a series of Community Engagement Meetings that were held in different communities throughout the County. The input that was gathered will guide the vision for the local community and the County in the next 10 years.
At the heart of this process is the idea that local government should invest more—and more thoughtfully—in its people and infrastructure. Using what we heard in the summer and fall, we’ve developed draft goals for six Master Plan topics. We’re holding public meetings in January and February and are, again, asking for your input on these goals and your assistance in suggesting actions to achieve these goals.

ALLEY CONSTRUCTION COMING
Baltimore County will construct three alleys in Pikesville on Howard Avenue, Colonial Road and Salem Court. The construction, which will be 2,840 feet long, will cost $293,074. Work will begin in the spring. Construction is expected to be finished during the summer, depending on weather conditions.

WATER LINE EXTENSION AT GLENCLIFFE CIRCLE AND OLD COURT ROAD
Baltimore County contractors are extending water service to 12 houses on Glencliffe Circle and Old Court Road. The new line, which will cost about $400,000, will run 1,783 feet. Work began in April and is about 95 percent complete. The job is awaiting final paving by the County’s contractor, which is anticipated for the end of March.

PEDESTRIAN STUDY FOR PIKESVILLE
The Pikesville Pedestrian Study, which was on hold because of COVID-19, has been moving forward. Data collection for the study, which is assessing pedestrian conditions and developing designs to accommodate walkers, drivers and cyclists, resumed in early October, following the confirmation of synagogue service traffic by the consultant Wallace and Montgomery. The completed data, along with the consultant’s recommendations, was delivered in early December and is being reviewed. Traffic engineers are evaluating the report for feasibility and are in the process of commenting.
WATER LINE ON FALLS ROAD
The Department of Public Works and Transportation plans to replace 11,000 feet of water line on Falls Road between the Beltway and the City line. The project will cost approximately $14 million and is scheduled to begin in the spring. Preliminary work has already begun. The replacement of the line—sections of which are more than 90 years old—will improve the reliability of the system. Much of the construction will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and ingress and egress will be coordinated with and provided for all property owners.
