Welcome to the Department of Recreation and Parks

Program Guides

The department works with 45 volunteer recreation and parks councils to sponsor a wide range of leisure time programs, activities and special events. Whatever interests you or your family may have, chances are our recreation and parks councils have a program for you.

Search For Recreation Programs and Activities In Your Neighborhood

Through this search tool you can search a general list of the programs that each volunteer recreation council has operated in the past twelve months as well as a a listing of the community recreation office's contact information.

As you peruse through this guide, please remember that it is general in nature. New programs are regularly instituted, while programs with waning popularity are discontinued. With this in mind, you should always contact the listed community office to get up-to-date information about the program.

If you see a program that interests you, but it is not being offered in your community, contact the listed community office to look into registering in that program, or even better, contact your local community office to see how you can become involved as a volunteer and work to start a similar program in your neighborhood.

A Recreation Office in Every Community

The department operates 36 local community recreation and parks offices throughout the county's six geographic areas.

Southwest | Northwest | Northern | Northeastern | Eastern | Southeastern

These offices can provide you with the most up-to-date information about programs and activities sponsored by your local recreation and parks council and you can learn how to become involved in recreation and parks in your neighborhood.  Most of your questions about recreation programs and parks in your local community will be able to be answered by these professional staff members.

Parents Code of Conduct

Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks has adopted a Parents Code of Conduct. Parents are encouraged to sign a copy of the code whenever they register their children in recreation council programs.  The code reminds parents of the importance of being involved in their child's recreational activities.
