LH: I am excited by the existing and evolving opportunities that both recycling and waste prevention can provide Baltimore County and the greater Northeastern region.

Q: Can you describe your role with the Bureau?

LH: To connect and inform Baltimore County residents and visitors about the resources available so that they can be confident in reducing, reusing and recycling.

Q: Before working for Baltimore County government, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

LH: Prior to working for Baltimore County government, I had the privilege of working with Baltimore County Public Schools’ extracurricular programs. Students produce great insights while using their creativity.

Q: What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

LH: Since I love food, cooking and learning from other food enthusiasts, I would see myself in the culinary field, food procurement or part of a farm-to-table initiative.

Q: What is something you learned in the last week?

LH: This past week, I learned that bees can see the ultraviolet spectrum. Petals have ultraviolet patterns on their petals, which attract bees.
