Yang Koo Yoon

Homicide Victim, 1997

On January 21, 1997, at 8:52 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to a robbery/shooting at Selma's Liquors located at 4602 Washington Boulevard, 21227. Upon their arrival, they found 46-year-old Yang Koo Yoon suffering from several gunshot wounds. Yang Yoon was transported to a local hospital where he was reported deceased.

It was learned that Yoon had been working in the basement of the business when two black male suspects entered the location with the intent of robbing it. Upon hearing the commotion, Yoon ran upstairs, confronted the suspects, a struggle ensued and Yoon was shot. A witness reported seeing the suspects flee in a small, green, newer-model car.

A witness who observed the suspects prior to the robbery was able to provide a detailed description of one of the suspects, which led to a composite sketch being completed.
