On the night of January 5, 2004, Heath Hamilton stopped at the Shell Gas Station located at 5317 Edmondson Avenue, 21229 with his son. Heath was speaking with an acquaintance outside of his vehicle when an unknown suspect approached them with a gun. This suspect demanded money and the keys to Heath’s vehicle. When Heath told the suspect that he did not have any money, the suspect opened fire. Heath was shot once in the head while his 6-year-old son sat nearby in their car. Heath was ultimately pronounced deceased at Shock Trauma. Heath was 33 years old at the time of his murder.

Witnesses described the gunman as a black male, approximately five feet, nine inches tall, and 175 pounds. Witnesses also told police that the suspect left in a dark blue Chrysler Concorde with gray trim around the bottom and dark-tinted windows. Witnesses described seeing several other individuals in that car as it drove away. A composite sketch of the suspect from 2004 is included in this post.
