Mary Lee Gericke and Victoria Gericke

Homicide Victims, 1992

On May 24, 1992, 30-year-old Mary Lee Gericke and her eight-year-old daughter, Victoria, died of smoke inhalation as a result of a fire in their apartment, which was located at the 1400 Block of Hadwick Drive, 21221. The victims' husband/father was able to escape the fire with substantial injuries. Investigators determined the fire to be the result of arson. The three-alarm fire was started in the hallway of the apartment building and caused over $500,000 in damages to the building.
