Homicide Victim, 2001
On August 8, 2001, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a Baltimore County Police officer was on patrol when they were flagged down by a citizen who had observed a male subject lying on the sidewalk. The officer found 20-year-old Tynell Dorsey on the sidewalk in the unit block of Mars Road 21221 in Precinct 11 Essex. Dorsey had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Interviews with residents revealed that several had heard a single gunshot approximately two hours before Dorsey was found. Tynell Dorsey had previously lived in California and was known by the nickname "Cali."
