Suspect Identified in Dundalk Homicide Investigation
Update July 8, 2025 - Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit have identified 35-year-old James Skarda IV as the victim in this case. The adult male who was located with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound has been identified as 37-year-old Ricky Stem.
Original July 7, 2025- Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department Homicide Unit continue investigating the circumstances surrounding a homicide that occurred on Monday, July 7, 2025. At approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the 8200 block of Bullneck Rd, 21222, for reports of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body; he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another adult male, believed to be the suspect in this case, was located in the area of Dundalk Avenue and Liberty Parkway, sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
