Initiative reflects commitment to building positive community relationships

April 22, 2025

The Baltimore County Police Department today debuted its new Mobile Community Center, a portable resource designed to bring essential services, outreach and educational programs directly to the communities that the Baltimore County Police Department serves.

The multi-purpose platform provides a new approach to community policing by allowing the Department to directly engage with community members in the comfort of their neighborhoods. Additionally, the Mobile Community Center will provide community engagement opportunities that promote crime prevention, youth traffic safety awareness, and community support during critical incidents.

“As a national leader in community policing, the Baltimore County Police Department is continually pursuing new and innovative tools that provide greater accessibility and address community needs,” said Police Chief Robert O. McCullough. “The Mobile Community Center is a tangible resource the Department can utilize to further community engagement.”

This initiative reflects the Baltimore County Police Department’s commitment to building positive relationships between the police and the community. While the Center will be managed by Youth and Community Services, the mobile center will be available to precincts and community organizations to serve as a hub for various activities including:

  • Youth development & engagement activities
  • Family conflict resolution
  • Outreach to vulnerable populations
  • Critical incident support and follow up
  • Community meetings
  • Mobile recruitment and training events
  • Crime prevention presentations
  • Youth and pedestrian traffic safety program

“The new Mobile Community Center is sure to foster important connections between Baltimore County law enforcement officers and the residents they serve,” said Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier. “By bringing information, services and fun directly to neighborhoods, the vehicle will promote shared experiences and much-needed collaboration when addressing important community needs.”

Funding for the Mobile Community Center was made possible through an allocation from the American Rescue Plan Act.
