Baltimore County Police Promote First Asian American Woman to Rank of Lieutenant

The Baltimore County Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of 24 sworn members who bring decades of service, experience, and knowledge to their positions. “These qualified leaders will ensure we maintain the highest level of service to our communities,” said Chief Robert O. McCullough. 

Among the members to be promoted at 6 p.m. this evening at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore, located at 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., is 14-year veteran Sgt. R. Park. Tonight, Sgt. Park will become the first Asian American woman in the Department’s 150-year history to be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. 

“The ranks of the Baltimore County Police Department are made up of individuals of every background who are highly skilled and passionate about their role in keeping all communities across Baltimore County safe places to live, work, and raise our families,” said Chief McCullough. “Promoting individuals like Lt. Park demonstrates how hard work and dedication are rewarded in our Department and highlights our commitment to supporting a diverse workforce.”

In September 2023, the Department promoted its first Latino Major and first Jamaican-born Forensic Lab Director under the leadership of Police Chief Robert O. McCullough.
