Baltimore County Police Department Prepares for 12-hour Recruitment Marathon

February 20, 2025

The Baltimore County Police Department (BCoPD) will kick off a 12-hour recruitment marathon beginning at 7:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The event not only highlights the Department’s commitment to community policing but also demonstrates the Department’s innovative approach to attracting applicants to a career in law enforcement. Since 2021, BCoPD has remained focused on creating a community-based recruitment model. The approach has provided the Department an opportunity to engage with potential candidates and communities in ways that traditional channels cannot. As a result, the Baltimore County Police Department has been able to establish a network of community organizations, local leaders, and educational institutions that are dedicated to identifying the next generation of police officers.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of becoming a police officer or are curious about a law enforcement career, BCoPD encourages you to stop by, talk to us, and take the first step in making a difference. High school seniors are urged to stop by and learn about our paid Cadet Program(link is external). From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., our officers will be set up at multiple locations across Baltimore County, ready to answer questions, accept applications, and share firsthand knowledge on what it means to serve their community. During this time, residents can also expect some pop-up events.

The day will start with an opportunity to take the Department’s agility test at two Coppermine Athletic Club locations in Bel Air and Timonium. If you can’t make it to Coppermine, you can join us at CCBC Dundalk Campus, located at 7200 Sollers Point Road, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. BCoPD recruiters will be available, along with specialized units. Open agility testing will take place at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The written test will be given at 9:30 a.m. or  2:00 p.m. The Baltimore County Police Department will conclude its 12-hour recruitment marathon at Set the Captives Free Outreach Center, located at 6901 Security Boulevard, from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m.
