1996 CASE FILE – JODY LECORNU UNSOLVED MURDER

March 2, 2024

ORIGINAL March 2, 2024

28 years ago, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the 6300 block of York Rd., 21212 for a reported shooting. When they arrived officers located the lifeless body of 23-year-old Joann “Jody” LeCornu inside her vehicle. Jody had been fatally shot. It was just before 4 a.m., on March 2, 1996. For family members and detectives with the Baltimore County Cold Case Squad, the search for Jody’s killer continues.

TIMELINE:

The night before the murder Jody had been at Mount Washington Tavern. After leaving that location, Jody stops by Curb Shoppe Bar & Grill in the 5700 block of Falls Rd., 21209. From there, Jody travels to Drumcastle Shopping Center along York Road. It’s in the Drumcastle parking lot where an armed subject approaches Jody’s Honda and fires into her vehicle. Wounded Jody drives across the street to York Road Plaza where her vehicle comes to a stop. The shooter, who detectives believe followed Jody to that parking lot, is then seen by witnesses reaching into the Honda.
