Arrest Made in Wilkens Shooting Investigation

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit of the Baltimore County Police Department have arrested 23-year-old Darren A. Brown due to circumstances surrounding the non-fatal shooting that occurred Thursday, February 8, 2024. At 3:29 p.m., officers from the Wilkens Precinct responded to the unit block of N. Twin Circle Way, 21227, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a juvenile victim who suffered a gunshot wound. Through their investigation detectives were able to determine the juvenile shot themself with a firearm that was left unsecured and accessible. The juvenile was transported to a local area hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

Brown remains held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, charged with reckless endangerment, neglect of a minor, and other firearms-related charges.
