Investigation into Wilkens Barricade

At approximately 7:40 a.m., on Saturday, January 20, 2024, officers from the Wilkens Precinct were dispatched to the 4800 block of Grenville Sq., 21227, in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 31-year-old Antonio Hart, who refused to cooperate with officers and stated he was armed. A perimeter was established, and members of the Department’s Tactical and Crisis Negotiation Teams responded to the scene. During negotiations, Hart released three occupants. A fourth occupant, an adult female, reached safety on her own. The adult female was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Hart refused to surrender and remained inside the location. After several hours, the tactical team made entry and located Hart deceased. Autopsy results are pending. Statements made by the suspect during the barricade are currently being investigated.
