Investigation Launched following Shooting near Silerton and Tionesta Roads

Two young teens have been placed by the Department of Juvenile Services following Monday's shooting in the unit block of Silerton Road. While other people were present when the firearm discharged, at this point detectives believe those responsible for possessing the ghost gun are in custody.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. today, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the unit block of Silerton Road following a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located a male juvenile victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The juvenile, who is not currently a Baltimore County Public School student, was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Some individuals have been detained as detectives work to determine their involvement. Three schools were placed on lockout status following this shooting out of an abundance of caution. Although this incident did not occur on school property, there was a police presence during dismissal to ensure student safety.
