Detectives Investigate Circumstances Surrounding Fatal Pedestrian Crash

At approximately 8:20 a.m., on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Precinct 7 - Cockeysville officers responded to the 1900 block of Monkton Rd. for an injured pedestrian. When officers arrived, they discovered that 69-year-old Julie Klien-Whitmore had been struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound. Whitmore was walking her dog with a family member in the crosswalk when the crash occurred. Following the collision, the driver of the Silverado remained at the scene. Ms. Klien-Whitmore, meanwhile, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced deceased shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The circumstances surrounding this crash remain under investigation by detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team.
