Detectives Arrest Suspect in Dundalk Shooting Investigation

UPDATE July 4, 2023 (9:40 P.M.)

Detectives have charged 39-year-old Jose Bautista with first and second-degree assault and other firearms-related charges in connection with this morning's non-fatal shooting. Bautista is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.

Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes detectives are currently investigating the circumstance surrounding a shooting that occurred in the 7500 block of Belmont Avenue at approximately 3:10 a.m., Tuesday, July 4. Officers located a male juvenile who was suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Detectives believe this incident stems from a vehicle theft, and as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident, they are asking anyone with information concerning the case to contact 410-307-2020.
