On Sunday, March 5, 2023 at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Wilkens Avenue, 21229 in reference to a person who was suffering from a reported gunshot wound. When officers arrived on the scene, they located 47-year-old Tavone Cotten, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Cotten was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this case and the events leading up to it.
