Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Essex

Members of the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday, March 1, in Essex. At approximately 8:10 p.m., a 2020 Honda CRV was traveling southbound on Route 702 approaching Old Eastern Avenue when a pedestrian entered the roadway. The pedestrian, 32-year-old Flore Mekoumou, was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Following the crash, the driver of the Honda remained at the scene. This case remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
