Vernon Melvin Green

1990 Homicide Victim

No photo is available.On Friday, January 5, 1990 around 1:50 a.m., Vernon Melvin Green and his roommates were watching a basketball game on television. Mr. Green, also known as "Peanut" to his friends, left his apartment located in the 3000 block of Essex Road, 21207 and went outside.

After a short time, neighbors in the area heard voices and arguing. Gunshots were then heard. Some of the neighbors went outside and found Mr. Green lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot to his head.

Baltimore County Police responded to the scene and determined that Mr. Green was dead. He was 26 years old.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, an organization that is separate from the Baltimore County Police Department and Baltimore County Government, offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges in connection with felony offenses.
