ABOUT THE COMMANDER

Captain Lieutenant Matthew Wilking began his career with the Baltimore County Police Department in 2006. Over the next 17 years, Lieutenant Wilking was assigned to a uniformed function in both Patrol and the Community Action Team, working within four different precinct areas. He spent time as an ad-hoc member of the Department's Special Response Team for 12 years. In 2023, he became the Assistant Commander of the Parkville Precinct, and then in 2025 the Acting Captain of the Dundalk Precinct. Lieutenant Wilking has an extensive background in criminal enforcement and prevention by way of community policing, and is eager to once again partner with the Dundalk community to apply those principles.
