The Infants and Toddlers Program is a joint venture of the Baltimore County Department of Health, Baltimore County Public Schools, Department of Social Services and other private agencies. The program's mission is to support families of children (from birth through 36 months of age) living in Baltimore County who have, or may have, developmental delays or a condition that puts them at risk of delays.
Services Provided
Staff meet with and assess each child referred to the program. For each child who is eligible for the program, the staff, working with the family and the family's medical provider, develops an Individualized Family Service Plan, describing strengths and needs of the child and family, and how best to meet those needs.
Based on the needs of the child and family, the program can provide the following services*:
Assistive technology (equipment)
Developmental monitoring
Individual and family counseling
Nursing
Occupational therapy
Physical therapy
Service coordination (case management)
Social work
Speech and language therapy
Transportation
*Services are provided in any setting where the child may live, learn, and play, such as the home, a child care setting, a public or private play center or an Infants and Toddlers site.
What is the cost?
This service is provided at no cost to Baltimore County residents.
