Job Connector Toolkit 2019 Update
Want to learn about the top occupations employers demand within Baltimore County’s high-growth industries?
If so, take a look at the Job Connector Toolkit 2019 Update, an at-a-glance reference guide highlighting data on nine key industries driving local economic growth and the occupations in greatest demand within them. The Toolkit is designed to help prepare today’s workforce for the needs of growing and newly emerging industries, and is a handy tool for workforce professionals, job seekers, employers and students.
The Job Connector Difference
Most government workforce development systems start with the job seeker. This often leads to people completing training and receiving certifications in fields where there are no local job openings. Job Connector starts by looking at what specific jobs and skills are needed in the Baltimore region. This results in a better match between employer and job seeker, and more certain career paths for employees who want to know that their hard work and skills can lead to promotions and higher wage jobs.
The Baltimore County Job Connector Initiative was launched in 2018 to assure employers have a workforce ready to fill high-demand jobs in high-demand fields. This innovative workforce program will enhance employer growth and engagement, increase investment in key workforce training programs and create new jobs for the short- and long-term future.
Funded by Baltimore County, Job Connector is a flexible workforce development program designed to match skills with available jobs. The Department of Economic and Workforce Development is partnering with County employers and training providers to launch industry-driven jobs programs.
