Master Plan 2030 Phase II Community Engagement

Master Plan 2030 development is underway. Through the summer and fall, the Department of Planning conducted a series of Community Engagement Meetings that were held in different communities throughout the County. The input that was gathered will guide the vision for the local community and the County in the next 10 years.

At the heart of this process is the idea that local government should invest more—and more thoughtfully—in its people and infrastructure. Using what we heard in the summer and fall, we’ve developed draft goals for six Master Plan topics. We’re holding public meetings in January and February and are, again, asking for your input on these goals and your assistance in suggesting actions to achieve these goals.

Harmony with Nature
Monday, February 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ensure that the contributions of natural resources to human well-being are explicitly recognized and valued, and that maintaining their health is a primary objective.
This meeting will be held virtually via Webex.

Sewer Relining Project in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson

The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) started an extensive sewer relining project (including manholes) in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson in May (the Gunpowder Project). It’s 45 percent complete; more than 20,000 feet of eight-inch diameter pipe have been lined. More than 12 miles of sanitary sewer pipe will be relined during the next year and a half. The project will cost about $5.8 million. Most of the work will be below ground with minimal impact to communities. However, with any project of this scale, there may be some traffic or parking issues, and occasional chemical odors. DPWT staff will issue periodic updates.

Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Sewer Pumping Station in Cockeysville

Baltimore County is modernizing the Cockeysville Pumping Station. Work began in April 2020. Modifications will take about a year and a half to finish, and will cost $5,215,000. The project is 98 percent complete.
