Baltimore County Announces Call for Applicants for West Baltimore County Redevelopment Authority

TOWSON, MD - Baltimore County today announced a call for applicants to serve on the West Baltimore County Redevelopment Authority, a newly formed group that will be tasked with making recommendations to the County regarding opportunities to promote economic revitalization in western Baltimore County.

“Western Baltimore County is ripe for revitalization, and I’m confident that our efforts are again making this area a vibrant destination for residents and economic driver for the area,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “We serve our communities best when we work together, and I encourage our residents and community stakeholders to join us at the table and add their voice to the authority so we can shape the future of this beloved region.”

“The West Baltimore County Redevelopment Authority was born from the public’s call for a fresh approach to redevelopment in the county,” said Baltimore County Councilman Pat Young. “The public’s participation in this new organization is vital to its success and I applaud the administration’s efforts to stand up the authority in a responsible way.”

The West Baltimore County Redevelopment Authority will consist of 20 individuals: 11 members of the public and nine ex-officio members, including state and local legislative leaders, the County Administrative Officer, and a member appointed by the County Executive.
