Annual "Woman of the Year" and "Young Woman of the Year" Awards

Each year, Commission for Women accepts nominations for its annual "Woman of the Year" and "Young Woman of the Year" awards. The award honors female residents of Baltimore County who serve as role models for other women. 

"Woman of the Year" Awards 2010

This is the 28th year honoring women for their outstanding contributions to the community. Submit a nomination today. The deadline is Friday, January 15, 2010. The awards presentation will be held in March 2010. If you have any questions, contact Jackie Wilson at 410-887-3448.

What You Need to Know About Your Bone Health

An initiative of the Baltimore County Commission for Women in partnership with the National Association of Commissions for Women and U.S. Bone and Joint Decade is to inform women about osteoporosis and what can be done to reduce the risks. We are able to arrange a  “Fit to a T” bone health and osteoporosis education program for groups of 15 or more. If your organization is interested, please contact the Baltimore County Commission for Women at 410-887-3448.

Osteoporosis is a medical condition characterized by diminished bone strength and increased risk of fracture. An estimated 8 million women in the United States have it. Could you be one? Learn important information about preventing and treating this debilitating condition.

Mission

It is the mission of the Baltimore County Commission for Women, through education and outreach, to identify and advocate for programs, legislation, and services to meet the needs of the women of Baltimore County.
