Volunteers

Are you dedicated to walking dogs? Can't get enough of cuddling cats? We need you as a BCAS volunteer.

Whether socializing and exercising our adoptable pets, constructing fun toys and beds, or spreading the word about our services at off-site events, our volunteers are an integral piece of the Animal Services team. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at bcasvolunteer@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Become a Volunteer

To apply to become a volunteer, complete the Animal Services Volunteer Application (PDF) and return by email to bcasvolunteer@baltimorecountymd.gov, by fax at 410-887-4257, or by mail or in person to:

Requirements

In order to volunteer, you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • commit to volunteering 10 hours per month for the next six months
  • be capable of safely handling animals with minimal staff supervision

Event Requests

Interested in hosting an event with us? We love to come out for community events and promote our many great services and adoptable pets. Depending on location, we may be able to have a few of our animals join us for the fun!

Email our Volunteer Coordinator at bcasvolunteer@baltimorecountymd.gov to request an appearance.
