UPDATE (March 31, 2:56 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police arrested four men in connection with the shooting of a man in Lansdowne.

On March 8 at 5:44 a.m., police responded to the area of Virginia Avenue and McDowell Lane, 21227 for a shooting. The initial investigation determined that several suspects approached a vehicle and fired multiple shots striking the victim. Detectives determined the suspects knew the victim and he was targeted.

Detectives arrested the following suspects:

  • Theodore Antonio Alston (29) of the 2500 block of East Federal Street, 21213
  • Clay Nazzarae Hart, Jr. (23) of the 5400 block of Whitwood Road, 21206
  • Darnell William Jones (25) of the 1600 block of Lochwood Road, 21218
  • Dionte Terrell Johnson (22) of the 1200 block North Patterson Park, 21213.

Each suspect faces attempted first degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony, and numerous other charges. They are currently held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status.

 

Original Release (March 8, 11:20 a.m.):

On March 8 at 5:44 a.m., police responded to the area of Virginia Avenue and McDowell Lane in Lansdowne for a shooting.

Responding officers found a man who was shot several times while he sat in his car. The man was able to run to a nearby home and ask for help. He was transported to a local hospital by medics and is expected to survive. The man was targeted and this is an isolated incident.

Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information should contact the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.

Baltimore County Police arrested a man after responding to a domestic-related shooting yesterday afternoon.

Police responded to the 100 block of Walnut Avenue, 21206 at 3:47 p.m. for a call of a shooting. Detectives determined that the suspect was involved in an altercation with a woman at his home when another man attempted to intervene. The suspect shot the man in the lower body, and was then subdued and disarmed by other people in the home who held him until officers arrived on the scene.

Both the victim and the suspect were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Both are expected to survive.

The suspect, identified as James Thomas Blue (59) of the 100 block of Walnut Avenue, 21206 is charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and the use of a firearm in a felony. He is held on a no bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing.

Police are investigating a shooting in Lansdowne after a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound responded to an area hospital yesterday evening.

Officers were initially called to the area of Smith Avenue and Bryant Avenue, 21227 at 6:35 p.m yesterday for a call of shots fired. Officers did locate evidence of a shooting but no victim at the scene. Detectives were notified of a walk-in victim of a gunshot wound at an area hospital a short time later and were able to confirm that the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was shot at Smith and Bryant Avenue. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unconfirmed and under investigation.

The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this incident and asks anyone who may have information on this shooting to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.
