Original Post (May 15):

Since May 7, police investigated several thefts from autos in the Falls Road, Ruxton Road and Charles Street, 21204 areas of Towson.

The investigation revealed that between the times of approximately 5 p.m. and 11 a.m., the suspect, Christopher Allen Kidd (40) of the unit block of Offshore Lane 21811, drove a stolen Honda Civic to the areas and stole various items from parked cars. Many of the cars were parked in residential areas and left unlocked. Kidd used several credit cards stolen from the victims at businesses in Baltimore.

On May 12, Kidd was arrested after a traffic stop in Baltimore City while driving the Honda. He is charged with the following:

  • 1 count of theft $1,500 to under $2,500
  • 2 counts of theft $100 to under $1,500
  • 1 count of theft less than $100
  • 4 counts of fourth-degree burglary theft
  • 6 counts of rogue and vagabond

Kidd has been released on his own recognizance after posting a $3,000 bond.

As a reminder, always lock your car doors and remove any visible and valuable items. Thefts from autos are crimes of opportunity that you can prevent.
