Boat Ramps
The Chesapeake Bay, Maryland's crown jewel, can be accessed by the boat ramps located in these County parks, which are open year round:
- Cox's Point Park
- Inverness Park
- Merritt Point Park
- Rocky Point Park
- Southwest Area Park
- Turner Station Park
- Wilson Point Park
Ramp Hours
Ramp hours are from sunrise to sunset year round for all boat ramps except Inverness Park and Turner Station Park.

All boaters are asked to be out of the parks by the closing time.
Boat Ramp Fees and Permits
Baltimore County does not charge a fee or require a permit to use the Chesapeake Bay access ramps at any of its parks. However, boaters using the ramp at Rocky Point Park from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day are charged a trailer parking fee and individuals with kayaks, canoes and jet skis are charged the individual admission rate.

Vessel Size is intended as a general reference to ramp capacity. Generally, vessels less than 16 feet in length are considered small and those greater than 16 feet as large.

Rocky Point Park is located on the bay at the mouth of Back River. The park features both a deep water two-lane ramp and a shallow two-lane ramp. Boaters using the ramp at Rocky Point from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day are charged a five dollar trailer parking fee and individuals with kayaks, canoes and jet skis are charged the individual admission rate.

Southwest Area Park features Baltimore County's only public boat ramp on the Patapsco River. It is for shallow draft boats only.

Wilson Point Park, the County's newest waterfront park, is located on Dark Head Creek and features one two-lane boat ramp.

Loch Raven Fishing Center Rentals
In addition to the bay, the Department also provides access for boaters to the Loch Raven Reservoir at the Loch Raven Fishing Center, where boats may be rented for a relaxing day on the 2,400 acre reservoir.
