Cromwell Valley Park encompasses 460 acres of stream valley and upland habitat just minutes from downtown Towson. The park offers a variety of educational, interpretive and recreational experiences related to agriculture, nature and conservation, and the cultural history of Cromwell Valley, with the Willow Grove Nature Education Center, a remodeled historic farm house, as the focal point.

Situated in an area once known as "Lime Kiln Bottom," the park was acquired by the Department of Recreation and Parks starting in 1993. This stream valley park is comprised of the Minebank Run flood plain, open meadows, organic farm fields, orchards and wooded piedmont hills. The park has a marked trail system which guides visitors through varied habitats and past historic structures, which include lime kilns, a log cabin and slave cemeteries.

Cromwell has over eight miles of hiking trails through fields and forest, along streams and ridges, and a very active Hawk Watch site during the migration season. The native plant garden, live animal exhibits and honey bee hives are the focal point for a variety of programs related to conservation, native plants, gardening, wildlife, pollinators, butterflies, birds, et cetera.

The diverse habitat of the park makes it an excellent area for wildlife, and opportunities for bird watching and nature study abound. In the park is also a certified organic Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operated by Talmar Gardens and Horticultural Therapy Center. It serves as a demonstration of sustainable farm and provides wholesome, local, organic produce and eggs.
