UPDATE NOVEMBER 21, 2022 10:03 P.M.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Baltimore County Police Department will continue to have an increased police presence at Towson High School on Tuesday to ensure the safety of students and staff members. During this time, families are asked to remain vigilant in only sharing information that has been vetted or provided by a trusted source. The sharing of inaccurate information can often bring about confusion, frustration, as well as unwarranted fear and anxiety, especially for school-aged children.

While the vast majority of threats of this nature are unfounded, the Baltimore County Police Department takes each threat seriously and conducts a thorough investigation. As this investigation moves forward, the police department will continue to work with its federal partners to identify and locate the person(s) responsible for Thursday’s threat.

Again, the community can expect an increased police presence at Towson High School on Tuesday. While some resources may be easily identifiable, others may not. School Resource Officers will also be at the school to assist BCPS staff in addressing students' safety concerns. Anyone with information regarding the recent threat is asked to contact detectives at 410-307-2020. Information may also be provided through the Safe Schools MD app or iWATCH.
