UPDATE AUGUST 9, 2022

On Monday August 8, Baltimore County detectives arrested and charged 31-year-old Benjamin Katz in reference to the recent vandalism that occurred in the 10800 block of Greenspring Avenue. Benjamin Katz has been charged with multiple counts of malicious destruction, along with littering, and use of a hate symbol .

The Baltimore County Police Department has been investigating a spree of vandalisms that occurred in the Pikesville precinct. Officers initially took a report for the destruction of a political endorsement sign on July 21, 2022. After that initial report there were at least five other incidents of vandalism at the same location, each became more extensive in damage.

Detectives were able to determine these incidents to be politically motived. Benjamin Katz has since been released on his own recognizance, and is currently awaiting trial.

Currently, the Baltimore County Police Department is following up on investigative leads in reference to several reports of vandalism that have occurred in the 10800 block of Greenspring Avenue in the Pikesville Precinct. Preliminarily, investigators do not believe these to be bias incidents. As this remains an on-going investigation, detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to contact 410-887-1279.
