Juvenile Charged in Shooting Death of Child

UPDATE AUGUST 4, 2022

Baltimore County homicide detectives have charged a juvenile in the shooting death of an 8-year-old girl. On August 3, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers from the Baltimore County Towson Precinct responded to the 6300 block of Sherwood Rd, 21239., for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered the juvenile victim in the basement of a home. Medics transported the child to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. While this incident remains under investigation, this case is now with the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office and Department of Juvenile Services. By law, the Baltimore County Police Department is strictly prohibited from releasing any additional information regarding the victim or suspect in this case due to their ages.

While homicide detectives believe the shooting that occurred in the 6300 block of Sherwood Rd. was an isolated incident, the circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.

On August 3, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers from the Baltimore County Towson Precinct responded to the 6300 block of Sherwood Rd, 21239., for a reported shooting. 

When officers arrived, they discovered an 8-year-old shooting victim in the basement of the home critically injured. Medics transported the child to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. This incident remains under investigation.
