UPDATE NOVEMBER 30, 2021 

On Monday, November 29, members of the Baltimore County Police Department arrested 33-year-old Shane L. Walters, of the 7100 block of Rolling Bend Rd., 21244. Walters has been charged with first degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Adia Smith on Friday, November 19. Smith was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1600 block of Belmont Ave., 21244. According to charging documents, Walters shot Smith during a verbal argument. Walters remains in custody.

Baltimore County Police have identified the victim in this homicide as 24-year-old Adia Smith.

At approximately 3 p.m., Friday, officers responded to the 1600 block of Belmont Ave. for a reported shooting. When officers arrived they located a 24-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
