Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department are continuing to investigate the fatal shootings that occurred last week in Essex and Glen Arm.

Investigators believe that on March 28, 2021, 27-year-old Joshua Green shot five people, killing four of them. According to family members, the shooter struggled with behavioral health issues.

In addition to investigative resources, the Baltimore County Police Department deployed its Mobile Crisis Team to offer support and resources to those impacted by these incidents.

Police patrols have also been increased in these communities and personnel from the police precinct are continuing their outreach efforts with residents, businesses, and the faith based community.

This past weekend, Police Chief Melissa Hyatt joined County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. at a community public safety meeting in Essex. The meeting was organized by the Baltimore Chapter of the Guardian Angels and held at St. Stephens AME Church.

We will continue to provide updates to the community when new information is available.
