The Baltimore County Department of Health offers tuberculosis (TB) skin testing for those persons being evaluated for active tuberculosis and their contacts. Registered nurses provide counseling, medication, monitoring, Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) services, and educational materials free of charge.
The Tuberculosis Program provides consultation to private providers caring for patients with tuberculosis. Private providers are given information, consultation, resources for referrals and assistance in meeting state and federal standards for treatment of TB cases. DOT by Department of Health is offered and strongly encouraged for all patients, including those being followed by private physicians.
If you would like to refer a patient, please complete the tuberculosis referral form and fax it to 410-887-8251.
