For Commuters and Travelers

I-695 remains closed on the outer loop at MD-173 (Exit 1) and on the inner loop at MD-157/Peninsula Expressway (Exit 43). Allow extra travel times using alternate routes on I-95, I-895 and other portions of I-695.

For Impacted Businesses

ECONOMIC INJURY DISASTER LOANS

The SBA has made Maryland businesses impacted by the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse eligible for low-interest, long-term Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs)(link is external) to help overcome temporary loss of revenue stemming from the bridge collapse. Eligibility applies to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations. These loans may be used to pay normal operating expenses such as fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can't be paid because of the disruption. Eligibility is based on the financial impact of the disaster only.

The filing deadline for applications is December 30. Applicants may contact SBA's Customer Service Center by calling 800-659-2955 or emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Find additional disaster assistance information(link is external) or read the press release to learn more.

FOR IMPACTED WORKERS

Worker Support Program

The Maryland Department of Labor has launched the Port of Baltimore Emergency Worker Support Program(link is external), under which the State has authorized $15 million to provide temporary payments to impacted Port workers. Individuals eligible include employees of Port businesses who have lost pay and work hours, and independent contractors/solo owner-operators who regularly work at the Port and have experienced a reduction of income since the Key Bridge collapse. This will provide temporary cash assistance of $430 per week to supplement income, subject to program funds availability.

Unemployment Insurance

Baltimore Port workers whose employment was impacted by the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse may be eligible for unemployment insurance (UI).

MENTAL HEALTH AND CRISIS 

Baltimore County continues to encourage anyone in crisis to call 988 to be connected with safe, supportive and confidential mental health services. Counselors provide confidential care 24/7.
