MAN, 50, DIES FROM BURN INJURIES SUSTAINED IN NOVEMBER 16 BOWLEYS QUARTERS FIRE

November 21, 2024

A 50-year-old man died after succumbing to injuries sustained after falling into a fire pit in Bowley's Quarters.

The victim is Glen Himmelheber, Jr., of the 3600 block of Bay Drive, Bowley's Quarters.

On November 16, fire crews responded to the 3600 block of Bay Drive at 9:04 p.m. for a report of an injured subject. They found the victim had accidentally fallen into a fire pit in the rear of his yard. EMS transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with severe burns. On November 19, Mr. Himmelheber, Jr. died from his injuries. 

BCoPD fire investigators have ruled the manner of death accidental. This tragic incident marks the eleventh fire-related fatality in Baltimore County this year, underscoring the importance of fire safety and awareness.
