MAN, 38, DIES IN ARBUTUS APARTMENT FIRE

A 38-year-old man died this morning in a one-alarm Arbutus apartment fire.

The victim is Urian Bridges, of the 4400 block of Alan Drive, Arbutus.

Fire crews responded to the 4400 block of Alan Drive at 4:19 a.m. for a report of an apartment fire. An additional rescue assignment was dispatched when the resident advised 911 that he could not escape the apartment. Units arrived within minutes and found fire coming from a second-floor apartment. Firefighters entered the apartment to search for the victim and found him deceased in a hallway. 

BCoPD fire investigators ruled the fire accidental due to unattended cooking.
