Man, 63, Dies of Injuries Sustained In Catonsville Dwelling Fire

March 31, 2023

A 63-year-old man died after succumbing to injuries sustained in a March 28 Catonsville dwelling fire.

Baltimore County Police investigators identified the victim as Jeffrey Thomas Swimm of Catonsville.

Fire crews responded to the 500 block of Ingleside Avenue, 21228, at 11:06 a.m. for a report of a dwelling fire. They found fire visible from the second floor.

During search efforts, crews located the victim, seriously injured, on the second floor. EMS crews administered life-saving measures and transported him to St. Agnes Hospital in critical condition. After being transferred to John Hopkins Burn Center, he died from his injuries on March 30.

BCoPD fire investigators have not determined the cause of this fire.
