Middle River Woman, 91, Dies of Injuries Sustained in February 23 Fire

A 91-year-old woman died from injuries sustained during a fire at her Middle River home on February 23, 2023. 

Baltimore County Police investigators identified the victim as Mary A. Cardarelli.

Fire investigators ruled the fire accidental due to improperly handled smoking materials.

Fire crews responded to the hundred block of Slipstream Court, Middle River, 21220, at 8:16 p.m. for a report of a dwelling fire. Baltimore County Police officers found the victim suffering burn injuries on the front porch and cared for her until EMS arrived.

EMS crews administered life-saving care and transported her to Johns Hopkins-Bayview Burn Center in critical condition. On February 25, 2023, the victim succumbed to her injuries.
